Introduction to Cold Smoking and Simple Curing – Course
Ever wanted to know how to cold smoke? or wondered what things you can cold smoke? Know someone who has always wanted to smoke their own cheese, bacon or maybe even smoked salmon?
Well this could be the perfect course for you!
Each course is hosted at our BBQ Smokehouse at The Stockyard in Melton Mowbray in small groups.
You will be guided by our expert smoke master (and owner) Jon who oversees all our hot and cold smoking at the smokehouse so you will be in safe hands.
The course will cover the following:
- An introduction to Feast and The Furious – including a welcome drink!
- What is Cold smoking?
- What can you cold smoke?
- How to cold smoke?
- Different types of wood for smoking
- What equipment you need for cold smoking at home?
- Simple curing methods
- Make your own cured salmon gravlax to take home with you
- A tour of our cold smoking facilities
- How we cold smoke our products
- Tasting some smoked food
- Q & A
The course lasts a couple of hours approx. Each ticket is per person. There will be a maximum of 6 people on any course date (please contact us to enquire about any larger group bookings). There is free parking on site.
